Dermal Filler Aftercare Instructions

What to expect:

Needle marks, swelling, and soreness may occur after your injections.

Bruising and bleeding may occur at injection sites. Minimize this by avoiding alcohol, caffeine, aspirin or NSAIDs before your treatment.

Temporary asymmetry may be seen due to swelling effects.

Your filler injection results can be can be seen immediately, but they will get better over time. The final result will be at 2-3 weeks.

Mild itching or tightness of the injected areas.

Pimples and cold sores may occur after injection. We can provide you with medication if you are experiencing cold sores.

Caring for your skin:

Avoid wearing make up in the treatment area for at least 24 hours unless specified by your injector.

To prevent bruising, avoid intense heat exposure (vigorous exercise, sauna, hot yoga, etc.) and alcohol.

If you’re having tenderness, you can use a cool compress or tylenol.

Bruising is more likely if you use aspirin, fish oil, or blood thinners. You can use arnica, gentle massaging to disperse the bruise.

Asymmetry, lumps, and bumps may common in the first 2-3 weeks. If they persist and bother you, please notify us. I recommend a follow up appointment in 2-6 weeks for touch ups if needed.
